Dead Island was Techlands first attempt at the zombie genre and for a first try they did very well with it. But of course Dying Light was a huge leap forward in their evolution as a studio, they took a great risk with Dying Light after many fans who lived Dead Island were bummed when they left the franchise.

And since its using the same engine as dying light, it actually looks far better than dying light. And the loading time of maps is literally 1 second. Yeah, Dead Island does NOT look better than Dying Light. The resort space might be a better area but the lighting etc on Dying Light is much much better.
